Temporary Additional Needs and Cover Supervisor

Required for February 2018 till 20th July 2018

Salary: G4.9 = £13,023 per anum (32.5 hours per week term time only)

We have an exciting opportunity at De Aston school for a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor to join our excellent Additional Needs Department.

This post would be also be suitable for a person who is looking to gain school experience before applying for a PGCE/ SCITT course for September 2018.The role will primarily involve being part of a team that supports Additional Needs within the classroom as well as providing cover for absent members of the teaching staff when required. The role will involve working with the whole ability range of students across all three Key Stages across the full range of the curriculum.

Ideally you will have had previous experience in a secondary school environment in a similar role.

You will be educated to A level standard in at least 3 subjects, and have good GCSE grades in Maths and English plus at least three other subjects. Alongside this you will have good organisational and interpersonal skills along with the personal characteristics required to supervise students and build relationships with both the teaching and support staff. In return we will offer a wide range of CPD relevant to your needs and, if appropriate, support you in securing a PGCE/SCITT placement for September 2018.

Boarding Parent

Start date February 2018

Salary: G3 points £13,801 pro rata (37 hours per week term time only)

We are looking to appoint a House Parent to support within the Boarding house during term time . This is a post which could also be made available as a Graduate Intern position for a minimum of one year. The position will entail, on average, a nominal 37 hours of directed duties per week. Standard duties will include regular work at weekends, supervising pupils in house, and assisting with boarder activities such as trips, sports, art etc. The remaining hours are used to provide cover in the boarding house during the evening and for supporting EAL students and academic studies.

This position is also available as a residential position in which instance accommodation and meals will be provided free of charge in lieu of overnight duties on a rota basis.
